Northwest Wools is proud to be Portland’s oldest yarn shop — serving the needs of our customers for over 35 years from our charming location in Multnomah Village. Our customers span multiple generations, and we love watching our fiber family expand and grow. We work hard to provide every customer with great service. Whether it’s advice on yarns, inspiring new project ideas, or helping with challenging patterns, we’d love to assist you.
All our staff members are experts at their fiber crafts, and most are skilled in multiple areas. We have the knowledge to resolve most any fiber question!
At Northwest Wools, we are committed to giving knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners and felters a variety of choices in all-natural yarns and fibers. Our large yarn inventory includes big-name commercial yarns, such as Malabrigo, Plymouth and Cascade, and many independent dyers, including Shaggy Bear Farms, Knitted Wit, Garage Dyeworks, Fiona Kay Knits and Three Fates Yarns.
We carry the largest inventory of spinning and felting fibers in Portland, including hand-dyed roving braids from Dicentra Designs and Three Fates Yarns, as well as un-dyed unique and rare-breed roving from Shaggy Bear Farms. We also carry an extensive collection of needles and accessories, as well as a variety of hand-crafted project bags. Stop by and share your latest project with us – we always want to see it!

Driving from Portland: Take I-5 South, exit 296B onto Multnomah Blvd. Right onto SW 35th and you’re in the heart of Multnomah Village!
