Tessa Herra Crochet Along Designer:

We are also thrilled to announce our Designer for the 2024 Mystery Crochet Along!

Tessa Herra is the maker, designer and founder of Tzigns. Tessa lives in a small Oregon town off of the Columbia River Gorge. It’s quiet, peaceful, and a slow-paced kinda life in the country. You can usually find Tessa surrounded by her many pets (currently 1 dog, 2 cats and 6 chickens) and her special hubby too. They love camping, fishing, kayaking, traveling for concerts, and really just exploring the outdoors as much as possible.

Tessa is a creative soul at heart. She grew up with a pencil in her hand, always drawing and doodling. Beading and macrame took over in middle and high school, then she choose to continue the arts by graduating from college with Graphic Design and then Cosmetology as well. It wasn’t until 2006 that she found yarn and learned to crochet from her Mom and Grandmother, and was hooked - pun intended!

Tzigns has really flourished since 2006, from making and selling handmade accessories online and at vendors markets to full-time designing crochet patterns at the end of 2019. In 2022, Tessa added knitting to her repertoire, thanks to YouTube, and now have added knitted beanies to her winter markets! Designing with texture and interesting stitch patterns is her go-to. Tessa heard many times that her designs look more complicated than they actually are! Usually, they are standard stitches in an unusual pattern that make one eye-catching piece.

One of the bonuses of falling in love with yarn is the automatic joining of this special community. Tessa absolutely LOVES connecting with other makers and fiber artists, so don’t be shy to say “Hi” on the ‘gram!

Follow Tessa on Instagram as @tzigns and Ravelry as tzigns.

You can also join Tessa via Zoom Thursday January 18th, 2024. Full details will be included with your preclue purchase.
