Mosaic Moon will help us kick off the Yarn Crawl with a one-day pop-up shop on Thursday! Started by Morwenna Palmehn of Ashland, Oregon, in 2003, Mosaic Moon has grown from a small custom-knitting business to become a top hand-dyer in the indie-dyed yarn and fiber world. Come see Morwenna’s amazing colorways, paired with soft and scrumptious yarn bases! https://mosaicmoon.com/
Favour Valley Woodworking will be with us Friday for a one-day Pop-up Shop. Owner Martha Sunderland is a talented woodworker dedicated to preserving and celebrating her natural environment with her handmade wood and antler buttons, toggles, shawl pins and accessories. And no animals or trees are harmed in creating her beautiful buttons, toggles and pins. They are gleaned from natural antler shedding and tree fall!
We invite you to join Stephania Fregosi, of Three Fates Yarns, for a one-day Pop-up Shop on Friday featuring her fabulous yarns and fibers. Steph is an indie dyer from Salem, Oregon, well-known for her use of colors – especially notable in her gradient yarns and fibers. Three Fates offers gradients prepared in single cakes, where long stretches of color blend smoothly from one to the next, as well as packages of multiple gradient skeins. She also has single yarn skeins in lovely fiber combinations. Some even have sparkles! Her yarn was recently featured in the new Bristol Ivy Book, too!! https://www.facebook.com/3FatesYarns/
Meet Wendy Hanson on Saturday at this one-day Pop-up Shop, and learn about her very special yarns and fibers from Shaggy Bear Farms. Wendy runs a “farm to needle” operation, managing a flock of over 400 animals, many of which are rescue animals. So your purchases not only support Wendy but also all of these wonderful animals she has saved.
Wendy’s inventory truly has something for everyone: Beautiful, vibrant colors as well as undyed, natural hues; buttery soft merino/silk blends and rugged, “crunchy” yarns. And for all you Spinners – Wendy has an amazing selection of undyed roving from her many unique and rare breeds!! You won’t find this anywhere else!
We are pleased to welcome another Oregon-based Indie Dyer to the group of Indies we regularly carry. Erica Roberts, Owner of In the Deep Hue Sea, loves being a full-time Fiberista, so she can spend more time with her children. She started knitting when her first child was a baby and then decided to try her hand at dyeing. She kept experimenting until she got the deep, saturated colors she wanted. Once she started dyeing yarns she was hooked!
Erica has always been a Working Mom, but once she was able to successfully grow her business from part-time to a full-time operation that meant she could stay at home full time too. She loves being a Business Owner and says dyeing yarns allows her the perfect creative outlet. And she loves the flexibility of being able to stay home with her kids!
We love Erica’s use of colors and the vivid results she is able to achieve. We are excited to be carrying her yarns at Northwest Wools, so we can offer these yarns to our Customers looking for that “special skein”!
